Bruchetta

Bruchetta
A tomato and basil based Italian appetizer that has the perfect combination of flavours. Best served with french or italian bread, this recipe dates back from 15th century central Italy. Originally, this recipes main ingredients were garlic and olive oil, two ingredient that are still in the recipe today, but by preference, I make my bruchetta with mainly tomato and fresh basil. Some variations include raw pork products and large quantities of cheese. Interestongly enough, this recipe was originally created as a way of salvaging stale bread.

Today I used these ingredients in this recipe:

- diced roma tomato
- thinly sliced green onion
- minced garlic
- chiffonade basil
- salt and pepper
- extra- virgin olive oil
