Veggie Burgers with Fresh Pineapple
Tonight for dinner, I made burgers and fries. As a family of vegetarians, we can get bored of the regular somewhat dry, mild cardboard we call veggie burgers, so to prevent boredom with the meal I felt the need to spice them up! I decided to go with a “pulp fiction” aproach to the recipe. I took one side of the hamburger bun and actually melted cheese with a slice of pineapple underneath! The pineapple gave it a sweet juicy flavour, but with the cheese melted over top and the bun being grilled, it gave it a delectibly grilled tangy flavour. This is inspired by a the movie “pulp fiction” because in one of the most popular scenes, the character played by Samuel L. Jackson, steals a big bite of the man he’s interogating burger. A burger from “Big Kahuna” a hawaiian burger joint that does indeed put pineapple slices on their burgers. Watching this prior to dinner gave me quite the hankering for a hawaiian style burger! All in all, this was a great addition that I would definitely try again next time.
