Active Living, Goal Setting Reflection
1. Fitness wise, I would love to set a goal that will improve my physical abilities. After putting some thought into ti, I have decided that I want to be able to ACTUALLY touch my toes and do 20 pushups in a row. Naturally I have a pretty bad back, sso being able to touch my toes will be a hard one, but I will keep trying until I can do it. Being able to do this will require me to try at least once every two days to hold myself steady as far down as I can go for about 2/3 weeks. Being able to do pushups consecutively will require arm strength, which I don’t have. I will have to just keep trying again and again for a month or so until I have worked up the muscle to do it.
2. Personal development goals of mine are things like my improving my cooperative skills in two people sports, such as badminton. Badminton requires a lot of concentration and communication because you have to be entirely in tune with your partner. Calling the birdie is one of the most important aspects that I’d love to improve on, because you never want to both go for the birdie or leave it to each other resulting in no one hitting it.
3. In order to be a better teammate, on my soccer team let’s say, I have to be able to communicate and cooperate. I believe that in soccer communication is key and smart playing with team members (knowing if a teammate is fast enough to run up when you’re making a pass, or if they are reliable for you to pass back to so they can kick it up) are key components.
4. In future I am thinking about guiding hiking tours which would feinitely be a challenge. I love nature, being around people and hiking in new environments so that is definitely a goal I’d love to set and acheive in the future. In order to this, I would have to keep up my stamina and physical abilities, learn more about nature and direction and take chances by exploring on my own or with a group of friends.
